FULTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS REVIEW BLOCK GRANT PROJECTS

Posted Friday, June 13th 2014 @ 9am

The Fulton County Commissioners reviewed five project requests that have been submitted in the formula block grant program for 2014.   FultonCounty has $100,000 to distribute among 3 projects.

The proposals include:  Phase 3 of a water meter project in Fayette, resurfacing of Lincoln Street in Lyons, a sidewalk project in Swanton,  a downtown revitalization project in Delta, and a water meter project in Delta.

The deadline to submit projects to the state is June 20th.    Commissioners are also considering the FultonCounty revolving loan program to supplement projects.

Fulton County Commissioners also heard comments from a Pettisville resident that was opposed to the grant application for the ‘safe route to schools program’ from the Pettisville community.   A major issue is trees that would be cut down along the route.   Commissioners approved the original grant; but with dialogue on minimizing the loss of trees.
