Increasing numbers at the local dental clinic, and hirings in the home health and hospice program headlined the July meeting for the HenryCounty board of health.  In 2013, over 70 patients were assisted in the hospice program, and the board has approved three new nurses on a full time basis.  They are Christina Bachhaus, Deb Miller, and Tamela Thomas.

The HenryCounty health board also accepted the resignation of Lisa Trent as Hospice Patient Coordinator.        The board did authorize the creation of a new part-time position as medical social worker.

It’s been a busy year in the dental clinic at the Henry County Health Department, which serves six counties.  2,879 patients have taken advantage of services already this year, which is a 4% increase.

And the HenryCounty board of health approved a new contract for disposing of infectious waste, which will save about $140 per month.
