With support from local residents on two levies, the village of Holgate will move forward in parks and recreation. Passage of the levy for the swimming pool, will mean that recreation spot will open this summer. Crews will be working on some maintenance issues to get it ready soon.
And the village of Holgate is seeking applicants for the pool manager position along with lifeguards. A requirement for manager is the lifeguard certification.
Holgate has been told they need an upgraded computer software system for income tax collections, and prices are being reviewed.
Holgate Council approved the replacement of four fire hydrants in the village, at a total cost of $10,500.
And the Holgate Tree Committee has scheduled a meeting for May 21st, where they will discuss the village brush collection policy. For the time being, that service will continue.
