New coaches and summer camp opportunities headlined the Monday meeting for the Holgate school board of education.  The Holgate board approved their varsity coaches for the coming season, with newcomers Bradley Hurst in boys basketball, and Jayme Shiarla in cheerleading.                  Lunch prices were set for the upcoming school year, and include a 10-cent increase for students, and a 25-cent increase for adults.


                                    The Holgate board reviewed the summer camp opportunities for grades 6 through 12, running from June 2nd through 13th.  Signup is underway at the middle and high schools through May 30th, offering programs ranging from survival skills to robotics.   The programs are free through the 21st century grant, with bus pickup available.


                                    A proposal for a Spanish class trip to Costa Rica was reviewed for June 2015.          And students and staff were commended for their Ohio Graduation Test results, which ranged from 90-93% passage in all 5 subject areas.   The state requirement is 75%.


                        The Holgate school board also approved overnight trips for CampWillson next spring, and for the girls basketball team this summer.
