5th district Congressman Bob Latta has sent a letter, with 22 other colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives, to inquire about reports that permanent religious symbols in the chapels of VA medical centers were covered up, when not in use for official events.  This letter was sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.              Latta’s letter stated, “many individuals use our VA chapels for meditation and worship, and as a place to go in search of solace and comfort’.  It further states that these chapels should be open and accessible to patrons of all faiths, to safeguard religious freedom.
