The board of trustees at NorthwestStateCommunity College focused on personnel and finances during their session this week. Tuition rates for the 2014-15 school year were set by the board, and will feature an increase of about 2.2%. That figure still keeps NorthwestState at close to the lowest tuition in the region. Several new programs have been added to the curriculum, including industrial maintenance, welding and programmable logic controls. And look for new offerings that match the current jobs expected at local companies.
In personnel action; the NorthwestStateCommunity College board promoted Thomas Bowes to Associate Dean of Industrial Technologies. Timothy Nelson was approved as Director of Plant Operations, Construction and Renovation. And Briana Bartley was hired as division secretary in Allied Health and Public Services.
The new library director at NorthwestState will be Kristi Rotroff; while Michelle O’Dell is coordinator for public relations and communications.
Nicholas Gill will be the full-time training coordinator for advanced manufacturing.
And the NorthwestState board welcomed two new members: John Bridenbaugh of DefianceCounty, and Jeffrey Erb from WilliamsCounty.
