They’re still tallying the loss at a rural HenryCounty business, where thieves broke-in overnight and stole thousands of dollars worth of copper. The Henry County Sheriff’s office reports they are looking for subjects involved in a crime that occurred at Tri-County Rural Electric, on road K-2 just outside of Malinta. At 6:35 this (Thur.) morning, the company discovered a rear fence had been cut to gain entry to the property, and thieves broke through an overhead bay door. Once inside they stole numerous spools of copper, and loaded them into a vehicle that was parked inside the building. That vehicle, a 2005 Pontiac Vibe was stolen, along with the copper, and other equipment. The sheriff’s office reports the auto is gray in color, with license number CZ01VW. This auto also has two rear window stickers that say ‘fire extinguisher inside’ and ‘first aid kit inside’.
It’s believed this crime occurred between 9:30pm Wednesday, and 6:30am this morning. Anyone that saw anything suspicious in the area of Malinta overnight; or possibly saw this gray Pontiac Vibe should contact the Henry County Sheriff’s office.
