FOUR COUNTY ADAMS BD FUNDS MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

Prevention programs will help raise awareness of suicide and adolescent depression in northwest Ohio, along with teen substance abuse.   Those programs were discussed at the recent meeting of the Four County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services.    The Adams Board will provide nearly $10,000 in funds to Maumee Valley Guidance Center to expand their ‘signs of suicide’ prevention program that is currently offered in Defiance County schools.

Funding was also approved for a program designed to reduce the risk of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse, and violence by targeting social media.

And a mental health wellness program covering the four county health departments was funded through a $250,000 grant from the Adams Board.
