HAMLER TO RECEIVE BIG GRANT FOR WATER PLANT PROJ.

There’s good news for the community of Hamler, with confirmation of a half-million dollar grant to help pay for a new water plant in the village.  The money is coming from the community development block grant program in Ohio, and will be added to other grants already secured.   Mayor Jeff Brubaker reports those funds will cover about half the project cost of 1.6 million dollars.                   Once Henry County Commissioners complete paperwork, the water plant project can go out to bid, with hopes of construction getting underway this spring.

The new water plant will help produce a better quality of water for residents of Hamler, and the school.              The remaining cost for the water plant will likely come from low to zero percent interest loans, or a small increase in water rates.                                   The plant is expected to be located adjacent to the current water facility on the southeast edge of Hamler, off Hubbard Street.  It will serve about 300 customers.
