TRAFFIC STOP IN DEFIANCE COUNTY LEADS TO ARRESTS

A traffic stop by the highway patrol early this (Thur.) morning in Defiance County led to a couple of arrests.  At 12:20am, a vehicle was stopped on state route 15 near U.S. 24.   There were suspicions raised by the stop, and a canine was brought to the scene.   The dog alerted to a specific location in the vehicle, and about 93 grams of methamphetamine, and 3 grams of heroin were found inside.  The street value of those drugs is estimated at $11,000.

Troopers arrested 31 year old Travis Rath of Bryan, and 35 year old Jessica McDaniel of Pioneer.  Both were charged with Aggravated Possession of Drugs.  Rath and McDaniel are being held at the regional jail, and are scheduled for arraignment in court Friday.

The investigation led to three minor children being found in a motel room in Wauseon.  Those children were placed in protective custody.
