You may see two river rivals joining forces in a grant application. Napoleon Council’s Municipal Property committee discussed a program that utilizes grant dollars to clean-up vacant and abandoned industrial sites, and then turning them into future development opportunities. Maumee Valley Planning Organization is working on a grant that would combine Defiance and Napoleon on an application seeking Brownfield remediation funds. Up to $400,000 may be available.
And Napoleon is seeking approval from the state in trying to expand a community re-investment area, to be able to offer tax incentives to new or expanding local companies.
