HUMAN TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION IN DEFIANCE-ARREST

A joint investigation into Human Trafficking in Defiance has uncovered a prostitution operation that led to 7 arrests today (Friday).   Defiance Police Chief Tod Shafer reports six subjects have been charged with Solicitation in Prostitution, while another was charged with the felony-Promoting Prostitution.        The alleged crimes occurred at one location in Defiance.

The arrests include:  37 year old Brandon Perkins of Ft. Wayne, charged with Promoting Prostitution, and felony drug charges are pending against Perkins.

36 year old Aleasha Cain of Ft. Wayne is charged with Solicitation, and felony drug charges are pending.   Both are being held at CCNO.

The following subjects were charged with misdemeanor counts of Solicitation in Prostitution:  56 year old William Deatrick of Cecil, 33 year old Chase Roberts of Edon, 39 year old Megan Pickard of Bryan, 54 year old Dale Miller of Spencerville, Indiana; and 35 year old Benjamin Njogu of Mason City, Iowa.                    

Assisting in the investigation was the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, Defiance County Prosecutor’s Office, and FBI’s Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force.
