HENRY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT TO HIKE WATER RATES

This week’s meeting of the Henry County Regional Water and Sewer District Board has produced a rate increase for water heading toward 2019.  The increase of 8% in rates will show-up in January billings.     The hike was enacted due to the 12% water rate increase that will be imposed by the city of Napoleon; and that’s where Henry County receives their water.

This will impact residents of McClure, the Filling Home, and residents along road P.   About 400 customers will be affected in all.

The Henry County Regional Water and Sewer District is still working on an alternative water source for the region, working with partners in Whitehouse, Maumee, Sylvania, Perrysburg, and Wood County.  This large of a group would need to pump 15 million gallons a day from their source to meet the anticipated need.   More test wells are being ordered to determine the capacity of the Michindoh aquifer.
