Nicole Kidman Recalls The Big Move That Convinced Her To Marry Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman knows when to follow her instincts and that's what the Hollywood titan did when she realized that Keith Urban was the love of her life.

As per her new cover story with PEOPLE, the two met at an event in Los Angeles in 2005 and grew closer in the following months. The romance only grew stronger when Urban decided to amp up the chivalry for the star's birthday celebration and it seems to be a moment she'll never forget. "It was my [38th] birthday, and he stood outside with gardenias at 5 AM on my stoop in New York," the 51-year-old actress recalled in the interview. "That is when I went, 'This is the man I hope I get to marry.'"

For her big celebration, the country star took the actress to Woodstock, New York, on a motorbike for a getaway and, unsurprisingly, the trip turned into a benchmark moment for the two. "It was pretty intense," she said. "I believed by that point he was the love of my life. Maybe that's because I am deeply romantic, or I'm an actress, or I have strong faith as well, but I just believed, 'Oh, okay, here he is.'"

It didn't take long for Kidman and Urban to make things official when they married a year later in Manly, Australia and have since settled down in Nashville with their two daughters: 10-year-old Sunday and 8-year-old Faith. On Urban's end, the country superstar told the magazine that he's always been smitten with the star, but her most desirable trait boils down to her good-will. "I could sum up Nic as a wife, mother and human being in three words: She’s all heart!" he confessed.
