FATAL CRASH IN FULTON COUNTY INVOLVED RIDING LAWN MOWER

The Toledo Post of the highway patrol investigated a fatal crash in Fulton County Tuesday afternoon.The accident occurred on road C near state route 109 in York Township at 12:17pm.A pickup driven by 66 year old Gary Vanlent of Liberty Center was eastbound, when he came upon a riding lawn mower driven by 68 year old James Schlatter of Delta.Vanlent struck the mower, causing critical injuries for James Schlatter, who was transported to the Fulton County Health Center.Schlatter died of his injuries at the hospital.

The Henry County Sheriff’s office was called to the scene of a three-vehicle crash in the village of McClure on U.S. 6 at 5:38pm yesterday.28 year old Travis Beiswenger of Holgate suffered serious injuries in the collision, and was taken from the scene by Life Flight.Beiswenger was transported to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.23 year old Bradley Miller of McClure was also injured and transported to the Henry County Hospital by McClure Rescue.

And the sheriff’s department assisted the Putnam County Sheriff’s office and Leipsic Police just before 8pm last night in connection with a Robbery.The pursuit travelled into Henry County, where it’s believed the getaway vehicle crashed at Henry County roads 5 and J.3 subjects were arrested at that point, with the South Joint Ambulance District sending rescue units to the scene.It’s believed the robbery stemmed from a cash register that was stolen from a business in Leipsic.
