NAPOLEON FIRE DEPT. ON SCENE OF BELIEVED TO BE FATAL FIRE

Multiple fire departments have converged on the scene of what has been described as a fatal house fire today (Fri.) in the 900 block of Lumbard Street in Napoleon.It’s believed an explosion rocked the two-story structure around 1:57 pm, and the front side of the house burst into flames.Napoleon fire department was on the scene moments later; but the it appears the residence is a total loss.It’s believed there is a fatality in this fire; and three other people were injured and transported from the scene.Fire personnel are trying to recover the victim, and the Henry County Coroner and State Fire Marshall’s Office has been called in to investigate.Two of the victims have been taken by Life Flight to Toledo Hospitals.Traffic on Woodlawn avenue is being cut-off at this time in the last few blocks heading toward downtown Napoleon.Fire crews did a great job of keeping the intense flames from spreading to homes nearby, but there is some heat damage to an adjacent residence.Fire Departments assisting Napoleon include Ridgeville Township, Damascus Township-McClure, Florida-Flatrock Township, Holgate, Malinta-Monroe Township, and Liberty Center.The Henry County Sheriff’s office is assisting Napoleon Police on the scene.
