RATE REDUCTION ANNOUNCED BY BUREAU OF WORKER'S COMPENSATION

Public employers in the Buckeye State can expect a sizeable rate reduction for 2021 in Worker’s compensation premiums. The BWC board of directors approved a 10% cut at their meeting Friday, which will result in about 3,700 worksites paying 14.8 million dollars less next year. This rate reduction will impact county, city, public schools and other taxing districts. This decrease in premium charges is due to declining injury trends, and relatively low medical inflation costs. This marks the 12th premium reduction for public employers since 2009, and follows another 10% decrease from the start of this year.
