HENRY COUNTY RECEIVES NEARLY 5 MILLION DOLLAR LOAN FOR WATER SERVICE

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded Henry County a loan of nearly 5 million dollars to help Liberty Center and other communities join the Northwestern Water and Sewer District for their water service. The loan’s interest rate is 1.12%, which will be in effect for a 40 year period, as Henry County residents make the switch to water coming from Bowling Green and the Maumee River. The total project cost for Liberty Center’s tap-in with the Northwestern District of Wood County is about 5.2 million dollars. No timetable for construction has been set-up; so in the meantime, Liberty Center is still receiving water from Napoleon at a surcharged rate.
