JUNE 2022 UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS REVEAL EVERY COUNTY WAS UP IN NW OHIO

Every county in northwest Ohio reported higher unemployment rates for the month of June.  While the state unemployment rate remained steady at 3.9%, the Buckeye State lost 11,300 jobs from May to June according to Ohio Job and Family Services.                               Defiance County had the biggest jump in jobless numbers around the four-county area, rising from a rate of 3.1% to 4.2% in June.         Henry County’s unemployment climbed from 3.3 to 4.1%.      Fulton County was up at 3.8%, after reporting 3.3% in May.                   Williams County’s rate climbed nearly a full percent, from 2.8 to 3.7%.         And Paulding County’s jobless rate jumped from 2.7 to 4% in the June report.               Putnam County was again lowest in the regional with unemployment at 3%.                     Around the Buckeye State, the lowest jobless rate was Mercer County at 2.9%; while Cuyahoga County topped the state in unemployment at 6.4%.
