Miranda Lambert Embraced 'Challenge' With Vibrant 'Twisters' Anthem

Miranda Lambert is the latest country megastar to release a songs from the star-studded Twisters soundtrack before its official debut. “Ain’t in Kansas Anymore” released on Friday (July 12), one week before the album and its accompanying film will arrive.

Lambert wrote the track with Jesse Frasure (also known as DJ Telemitry) and Jenee Fleenor. Lambert said the trio embraced the “a fun challenge to write something for a movie when there’s a specific vibe.” It’s the latest single to release by the Texas-born hitmaker since “Dammit Randy” and “Wranglers.”

“Ain’t in Kansas Anymore” also follows previously-released songs by Luke Combs, Conner Smith, Thomas Rhett, Megan Moroney, Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman, Tyler Childers, Tucker Wetmore and Tanner Adell. The 19-track album will also include songs by Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Shania Twain and BRELAND, and more.

The Twisters album will release alongside the highly-anticipated movie, which premieres in theaters on Friday, July 19. the Lee Isaac Chung-directed film follows “a retired tornado-chaser and meteorologist (who) is persuaded to return to Oklahoma to work with a new team and new technologies.” It stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos and others in the cast, following the classic 90s film.
