Summer is over at the box office and just like everyone expected, the holiday weekend did not bring in any windfall of cash. In fact, depending on when the final numbers, this may be the slowest summer since 1998. "The Hitman's Bodyguard" topped the box office, but that's due in part to the fact that there were no new wide releases this weekend, which, by the way, is the first time studios have all but skipped Labor Day in 25 years.
"The Hitman's Bodyguard" - $13.4-million
"Annabelle: Creation" - $9.3-million
"Wind River" - $7.95-million
"Leap!" - $7.95-million
"Logan Lucky" - $5.65-million
