"It" has officially had a monster opening weekend. We're still waiting for the final numbers, but regardless, the latest Stephen King adaptation is breaking records left and right.
"It" had the best opening day ever for a horror title, the highest three-day opening record weekend for a horror movie, the second-highest opening for an R-rated pic, behind "Deadpool," and the best September opening for any genre.
The other new release, "Home Again," opened in second place with "Hitman's Bodyguard" coming in third. "Annabelle: Creation" finished in fourth place and "Wind River" rounded out the top five.
"It" - $117 to $123-million
"Home Again" - $9-million
"Hitman's Bodyguard" - $4.7-million
"Annabelle: Creation" - $3.9-million
"Wind River" - $3.1-million
