NAPOLEON COUNCIL SUPPORTS EC. DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AT HC FAIRGROUNDS

A Monday night for Napoleon Council opened with discussion on an economic development project proposed for the Henry County Fairgrounds. Both the Henry County Commissioners and Napoleon Council expressed support for a new multi-purpose livestock arena that could be utilized year-round for events.

Napoleon Council passed the third and final reading on a resolution to continue providing water to the community of Florida. The price will remain the same as it has been.

Council awarded the street improvement project on Lynne Street to Rupp-Rosebrock at $175,000, with the work to take place this summer.

There was discussion on how to fund Napoleon’s improvements on American Road and Oakwood Avenue, to handle more industrial truck traffic. The extra 1.1 million dollars beyond the grant money will come from Napoleon’s ‘electric development fund’; which the city will pay-back in time.

Gerken Paving donated money and material to pay for the re-painting of the Wildcat in downtown Napoleon, which will take place on Saturday, May 15th.

And all liquor license renewals in Napoleon were supported by city council Monday night.
