NAPOLEON SCHOOLS WANT TO RECOGNIZE VETERANS, MAKING DIPLOMA APP. AVAILABLE

Napoleon High School is a proud supporter of our United States military and as a Purple Star School, we strive to honor our alumni who have served our country and local veterans in our community. Service members and their families continually make sacrifices when serving their country. In the past, many were unable to finish school while supporting their country in a time of war. Per Ohio law, Napoleon High School is able to celebrate our veterans and grant a diploma to those who left high school during World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War in order to serve their country through enlistment in the United States Armed Forces and did not earn a high school diploma as a result. We are able to award diplomas directly to a veteran or present diplomas posthumously to a living relative. In order to be eligible to receive a diploma, the veteran must have been enrolled in an Ohio high school at the time of withdrawal/enlistment, be a current resident of the state of Ohio, or have been a resident of the state of Ohio at the time of death, and have not received a diploma due to their withdrawal from high school to serve. The veteran must have served at any time during one of the following periods in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces including the United States Army Air Corps, the United States Air Force, the United States Army, the United States Coast Guard, the United States Navy, or the United States Marine Corps. The veteran must also have been honorably discharged and provide proof of service. Dates of Service (must fall into one): September 16, 1940 - December 31, 1946 June 27, 1950 - January 31, 1955 February 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975 If you are a veteran, or family member of a veteran, who meets the above criteria and would like to receive your high school diploma, please contact Heidi Mekus in the guidance office at Napoleon High School by May 1, 2025. The phone number is 419-599-1050. We would love to honor your service and celebrate you.
