SENTENCES HANDED DOWN IN DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMON PLEAS COURT

Defiance County Prosecuting Attorney Morris Murray has announced the release of the following information regarding certain pending Criminal matters:

 

Prosecutor Murray has announced that 22-year-old Kayden J. Spath, of Defiance, was sentenced to prison for a sex offender registration violation.

 

Kayden J. Spath-age 22-Sentenced for Failure to Provide Notice of Change in Vehicle Information or Identifiers-F2 to 2 – 3 years at ODRC to be served consecutively to the terms of imprisonment imposed in Williams County Common Pleas Court-Case No. 22 CR 000028, costs, jail credit for 71 days. According to Murray, from January 16, 2025, through January 23, 2025, Spath, a registered sex offender, failed to notify the sheriff’s office of his change of internet identifiers, as required, and he has a prior conviction of Pandering Sexually Oriented Matter Involving a Minor.

Greg S. Lamica-age 48-Guilty plea to Aggravated Possession of Drugs-F5, PSI ordered, sentencing 6/23/25 @ 1:30 p.m., bond modified to OR.

 

Greg S. Lamica-age 48-Guilty plea to Failure to Appear as Required by Recognizance-F4, PSI ordered, sentencing 6/23/25 @ 1:30 p.m., bond modified to OR.

 

Joel E. Wulff-age 38-Guilty pleas to Attempted Corrupting Another with Drugs-F3 and Aggravated Possession of Drugs-F5, PSI ordered, sentencing 6/13/25 @ 9:30 a.m.

Brittany R. Zipfel-age 32-Sentenced for Domestic Violence-F3 to 2 years CCS with 30 months at ODRC reserved in the event of a violation of CCS, no bars/alcohol, not consume/possess/use any cannabis products, TPO dissolved, costs. (On October 19, 2024, at a residence on Mustang Dr., in Defiance, Zipfel caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family or household member, and she has two prior domestic violence convictions, which elevated the level of her offense to a Felony of the Third Degree.)

 

Fauna R. Plotts-age 34-Sentenced for Assault-F4 to 2 years CCS with 18 months at ODRC reserved in the event of a violation of CCS, no bars/alcohol, not consume or possess cannabis, costs. (On July 17, 2024, Plotts caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a law enforcement officer who responded to a complaint on S. Clinton St., in Defiance.)

 

James Freeman-age 55-Sentenced for Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs-F4 to 2 years CCS with 18 months at ODRC reserved in the event of a violation of CCS, no bars/alcohol, not obtain/possess/use cannabis or cannabis products, pay $80 in restitution to MAN Unit, costs.

 

Joshua A. Evans-age 43-Sentenced for Domestic Violence-F3 to 3 years CCS with 36 months at ODRC reserved in the event of a violation of CCS, no bars/alcohol, not consume/possess/use any cannabis products, attend and successfully complete the SEARCH program in Bowling Green (held at CCNO pending admission), TPO dissolved, costs. (On January 10, 2025, at his residence on Clinton St., in Defiance, Evans caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family or household member, and he has two prior domestic violence convictions, which elevated the level of this offense to a Felony of the Third Degree.)

 

Valentin Arreguin-age 29-Sentenced for Aggravated Possession of Drugs-F5 to 2 years CCS with 12 months at ODRC reserved in the event of a violation of CCS, no bars/alcohol, not consume or possess cannabis, costs. (On October 7, 2019, at a residence on Ayersville Ave. in Defiance, Arreguin was found in possession of Methamphetamine, a Schedule II drug.)
