VICTIM IN FATAL FIRE ON MEKUS ROAD IN DEFIANCE COUNTY IS IDENTIFIED

The Defiance County Coroner’s Office has released information concerning the fatal fire that struck on Mekus Road early last Sunday morning on January 25th.        Through an autopsy at the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, the victim was identified as 60 year old Bryan Conlon of rural Defiance, who lived at the Mekus Road home where the blaze occurred.    The cause of death is still being investigated by the coroner’s office, with more toxicology tests taking place.

A half dozen fire departments and volunteers responded to the call, with some on the scene for nearly 8 hours.  The cause of the blaze is still being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
