A semi that crashed off U.S. 24 in Napoleon early this (Mon.) morning struck an industrial building, sending three people to the hospital. Napoleon Police investigated the accident at just before 6:30am on Route 24 between Industrial Drive and State Route 108, off the north side of the highway. A semi out of Ontario, Canada travelled through the ditch, and crashed into the southeast corner of the Gilson Machine building on Freedom Drive.
Responders located three injured subjects at the scene: one was the semi driver from Ontario, Canada; and two workers from inside the machine shop. All three victims were adult males. One was transported by Life Flight, and two others were taken from the scene by ground ambulance.
Another semi crashed at that same site, and was disabled in the north side ditch along U.S. 24. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the site; along with rescue units from Napoleon, Ridgeville Township, and Liberty Center.
