Chatting With Drew Baldridge

Right now is a very exciting time for Drew Baldridge. Drew has been in Nashville for 13 years and at one point he had a record label deal, only to watch his label close it's doors. But Drew had something else- a really great song that he believed in called "She's Somebody's Daughter." In fact, he believed in that song so much, he released it on his own- without a record label backing him- and he's had tremendous success in doing so, which is something that's quite uncommon in today's music world. And even more uncommon- in fact, it's so uncommon that it's never been done before- is that fact that his song is about to go to number one on the Mediabase Country charts! Never in Country Music history has a song hit number one on Mediabase that was released without being on a record label. And if you're wondering what Mediabase is, Mediabase is the chart by which Country Radio measures success. For instance, when you listen to the iHeartCountry Top 30 with Bobby Bones, he is counting down the Top 30 songs according to Mediabase. What's even crazier is that Drew originally released this song nearly five years ago! But he believed in it enough to stick with it, and here we are!

So this is a big deal. A BIG BIG DEAL! And it couldn't happen to a better guy! I've met Drew a few times over the years and he has always been a stellar human being AND singer! And it's always so cool to see the good guys win, ya know? This good guy is seriously winning!

Drew was nice enough to call in to chat about his song and his journey. Here is our chat- give it a listen!
